The way we work is constantly evolving. Be resilient, responsive and adapt to change.
Employee retention is no easy task for construction contractors today. It’s no longer enough for companies to pay their employees competitive wages, keep them safe and provide them with regular hours in order for them to make a steady living.
When you think of any male-dominated industry, construction is probably the first job that comes to mind.
Of all the people who work in construction, women comprise only a small 9 percent of the workforce. Even smaller is the number of female construction workers on the front lines of a job site—there is only one woman for every 100 employees on the field. Considering that women make up 47 percent of all employed individuals, this means that the construction industry is only benefiting from about 1.25 percent of the total female workforce.
Can you believe we’re already at WIC Week 2019? Women In Construction Week is one of our most anticipated ‘events’ of the NAWIC year and when we started planning it months ago, it seemed SO FAR AWAY!! And now, here we are. Another chance to share the message, spirit and positivity of being a member of the National Association of Women in Construction thorough our active involvement with this incredible Coastal Georgia Chapter.
